Our Aussie team recently finished a complex pond site rehabilitation. It was an unlined earthen pond that held produced water for coal seam gas exploration. Prior to performing the work an extensive soil and groundwater survey was done. The rehabilitated footprint was 8 ha (20 ac). We treated soil layers with heavy gypsum applications (depicted) and strategically inverted the pond floor. We selectively replaced soil from batters and local stockpiles to create a new soil profile. Intensive on-site soil sampling (depicted) guided the effort. Recent rains have the new pasture off to a good start.
